A total of sixteen intrepid golfers enjoyed a round of golf during the recent nude golf international held on Sunday 23rd February 2014. Thanks to Steve MacKenzie from the Wairau Valley Golf Club who organised the competition and ran the bar for us all day. Kevin Omlo who has played in previous events was the winner in this the eleventh annual tournament.
Due to the outstanding success of previous nude golf tournaments, together with the support of the Wairau Valley Golf Club, and sponsors from the community; golfers from the UK, Canada and New Zealand participated in the annual Nude Golf International organised by Kay Hannam and Brian Williams at the scenic nine hole golf course on Sunday 12th February 2012.
High temperatures on the day meant the drinks trolley had a strong presence on the grounds with Wairau Valley Golf Club President Steve McKenzie on hand to serve liquid refreshments during the tournament. Following nine holes, competitors enjoyed a substantial luncheon provided by Wai-natur before heading out into the sunshine again to complete the required eighteen holes.
Visiting New Zealand from the UK for the first time Fran headed off husband Dick and several other contendors to win the magnificent trophy and a selection from the prize table. Fran is seen here with tournament organiser Kay Hannam of Wai-natur Naturist Park.
